Programmable network testbed

PINet lab hosts a state-of-the-art programmable network testbed. The testbed enables researchers, vendors, ISPs and service providers to check the feasibility of their innovative ideas in a realistic environment. It includes a diverse set of programmable switches, SmartNICs, servers and IoT devices that are being actively used to help shape the future of networked systems and applications.

Capabilities

  • 4 OpenFlow 1.3 and 3 Tofino-1 switches
  • 2 ASIC-based and 2 SoC multicore SmartNICs
  • 2 NetFPGAs
  • 8 servers equipped with cutting-edge GPUs
  • More than 20 IoT devices from multiple vendors ranging from Raspberry Pi's to smart bulbs and plugs
  • 2 neural compute sticks
